An ebook manager and reader with a slick interface
KooBits is a nicely designed ebook manager and reader with support for many popular formats, including PDF and ePub.
With KooBits you can easily manage your ebooks – both the ones you download from the KooBits store and the ones located on your hard drive – from a centralized spot. The ebook manager looks like a wooden shelf and lets you comfortably browse books by their cover.
All of the books in the KooBits store are literature classics, and available for free - at least, we couldn’t find any paid titles. While it’s always good to have free ebooks to read, not finding any recent titles on the KooBits store was somewhat disappointing. On the upside, if you register as a KooBits user on the program’s website, you’ll get an extra free ebook in your Dropbox account everyday.
The ebooks reader includes all the features you would expect from an app like this: zoom tool to enlarge the text, highlighter, bookmarks and stamps. You can also crop images, but there’s no way to add notes to the text.
In all, KooBits is a promising ebook manager and reader that unfortunately still lacks some functionality to be perfect.
